Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Shift Details

• Night shift
• 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
• Minimum 1.5 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification

Experience Notes

• First-time travelers accepted
• Prior travel experience is not required

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 90 days of start, including 7 years of residence/work history, SSN trace, county/state/national checks, and education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Verification of education and licensure through primary sources within 30 days of start
• Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years (supervisory titles required)
• Current skills checklist completed within 12 months and updated annually

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam completed within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 12 months (specific approved respirators required)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (including amphetamines, marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP)
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Rubeola (Measles): positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
  • Mumps: positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
  • Rubella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted; history not accepted)
  • Hepatitis B: series, titer, or signed declination required
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: strongly recommended (preferred if administered at age 11 or older)
• Tuberculosis screening within 1 year (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) with chest x-ray if positive
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for flu season (9/30 - 3/31); declinations not accepted
• Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score

Additional Notes

• Must provide written confirmation of comfort with every other weekend shift requirement before submission
• Floating required between multiple hospital campuses
• Facility-specific compliance and orientation documents must be completed as a priority before start
• On-site fit testing available only as a last resort and with prior approval
• Candidates will be paid for time spent completing mandatory RRT modules before orientation (paper timecard required)
• Indiana RN travelers are restricted from working at this facility after 11/30/24 except for certain perioperative and ambulatory RN specialties (does not apply to RRTs)
