Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location
- Indianapolis, Indiana

Shift Details
- Night shift
- 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
- Minimum 1.5 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
Experience Notes
- First-time travelers accepted
- Prior travel experience is not required
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, including 7 years of residence/work history, SSN trace, county/state/national checks, and education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Verification of education and licensure through primary sources within 30 days of start
- Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years (supervisory titles required)
- Current skills checklist completed within 12 months and updated annually
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam completed within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific approved respirators required)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (including amphetamines, marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Rubeola (Measles): positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
- Mumps: positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
- Rubella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted; history not accepted)
- Hepatitis B: series, titer, or signed declination required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: strongly recommended (preferred if administered at age 11 or older)
- Tuberculosis screening within 1 year (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) with chest x-ray if positive
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for flu season (9/30 - 3/31); declinations not accepted
- Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score
Additional Notes
- Must provide written confirmation of comfort with every other weekend shift requirement before submission
- Floating required between multiple hospital campuses
- Facility-specific compliance and orientation documents must be completed as a priority before start
- On-site fit testing available only as a last resort and with prior approval
- Candidates will be paid for time spent completing mandatory RRT modules before orientation (paper timecard required)
- Indiana RN travelers are restricted from working at this facility after 11/30/24 except for certain perioperative and ambulatory RN specialties (does not apply to RRTs)
