Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Location
- Fredricksburg, Virginia
Employment Type
- Travel contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP)
- Number of beds: 10 LDR, 3 triage, 2 OR suites
- Staff: 30 RNs
- Shifts:
- Day: 1 Charge RN, 2 LDR RNs, 1 Nursery RN
- Night: 1 Charge RN, 2 LDR RNs, 1 Nursery RN
- Patient ratio: 2 laboring patients per 1 RN
- Equipment: GE monitoring, Novii Wireless, Spectrum IV Pumps, CADD epidural PCA
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Meditech
Typical Procedures
- Inductions
- Cesarean sections (C/S)
- Spontaneous vaginal deliveries (SVD)
Required Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) experience, including experience within the last year
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN
- Labor and Delivery experience
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
Work Hours
- Approximately 36 hours per week

- Intermediate fetal monitoring skills preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Friendly and team-oriented personality
Dress Code
- Scrubs consistent with OR or unit standards
