Description
Registered Nurse (CVICU) - Travel Assignment
Location: Reston, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Hours: 36 hours per week
Schedule: Includes 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
Number of Beds: 4
Patient Ratios:
- 1:1 for immediate post-surgical patients
- 1:2 for post-operative days 1-3
Unit and Work Environment
- Primary nursing model with unit secretaries and tech availability
- Floating policy: Nurse will float with the same patient ratio as the unit floated to
- Documentation system: Meditech Expanse
- New cardiac surgery program recently launched
- Procedures and advanced equipment include balloon pump, Impella, Hemosphere or Acumen technology
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
