Description
Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care on Med/Surg Telemetry unit with potential to float to related units including Emergency Department.
- Rotating day/night shifts (7am-7:30pm and 7pm-7:30am); shift flexibility required to meet operational needs.
- Must work at least every other holiday.
- Orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition and medication administration competency testing; passing scores required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio.
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum 1.5 years of Med/Surg and Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year.
- Ability to pass ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety exams during orientation.
Work Schedule
- 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week.
- Night and day shifts rotate (7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm).
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license) required.
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 48 hours of contract signing; must be updated annually.
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to perform job functions safely.
- Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months, updated annually.
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual updates)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
- Hepatitis B vaccination/titer or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination (declinations not accepted)
- Drug screening: Standard 10-panel within 12 months, updated annually.
- Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year.
- Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start.
- Completion of medication and ECG competency exams during orientation.
References & Work History
- Two professional references from employment within the past year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director).
- Employment application must include at least 3 years of prior work history with 2 years in acute care and similar clinical area.
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be prepared for variable shifts and floating to related units as needed.
- Facility requires strict adherence to all health and safety documentation and certifications.
- Orientation and onboarding modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone.
- Candidates with gaps longer than 6 months since last assignment at this facility may need to retake certain exams and complete modules again.
This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs who meet the licensing, certification, and clinical experience requirements and are flexible with shift rotations and unit assignments.
