Job Opportunity: OB Registered Nurse (Part Time Night Shift)

Work Schedule

• Night Shift: 4 shifts of 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend
• Approximately 22 hours per week

Job Summary

• Provide quality nursing care for maternal and newborn patients.
• Cross-train and provide care for Med Surg/EICU patients as needed.
• Complete initial nursing histories, assess patient conditions, and develop individualized care plans.
• Triage patient care based on symptoms.
• Administer medications accurately.
• Assess labor progression and manage induction of labor and cervical ripening.
• Handle medical emergencies such as prolapsed cord, breech delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, precipitous delivery, uterine rupture, meconium management, abruptio placenta, and placenta previa.
• Perform and interpret fetal heart monitoring.
• Manage pregnancy-related conditions including hypertension and diabetes.
• Assess newborn condition and recognize when higher-level care is needed.
• Perform neonatal resuscitation within scope of practice and certification.
• Recognize and manage neonatal sepsis.
• Monitor newborns for hypoglycemia, hypothermia, jaundice, and intervene appropriately.
• Promote patient education and involvement in newborn care.
• Communicate effectively with the care team and alert providers to patient status changes.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year
