Echo Tech Cardiac Sonographer Pediatrics - Travel/Contract
Location: Flagstaff, Arizona
Contract Length: 7 weeks
Job Summary
- Specialty: Pediatric Echocardiography (ECHO TECH)
- Shift: Monday to Thursday, 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
- On-call required: Monday night through Friday morning (5:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Weekend work: As needed
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week; facility may call off up to 6 times during the 13-week assignment
- Floating: Not required
- Locals not accepted
- Blocked scheduling and return-to-office restrictions require unit manager approval
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Pediatric Echocardiography
- Pediatric Echocardiography experience within the last year
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Echo Technician experience
Required Certifications & Licenses
- ARRT certification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Electrophysiology (EP), Structural Heart, MacLab, Xper, Cerner charting system

- Type: Short Term Acute Care, Teaching hospital, Level I trauma center
- Total staffed beds: 268
- Charting system: Cerner
- Parking: Free for employees

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year history, SSN trace, criminal and sex offender searches within 30 days of start
- Education verification required (diploma or transcripts acceptable)
- Fingerprinting required for Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer specialty within 30 days of employment
- Drug testing: 10-panel urine screen within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to perform essential job functions
- Fit mask (N95) required within 1 year of start and updated annually; onsite fit testing available if needed
- Immunizations and titers required or declination forms accepted for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (proof of immunity or 2 vaccines)
- Varicella (proof of immunity or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year, updated annually; TB questionnaire required for past positives
- Seasonal flu vaccine or facility-specific declination form (mask required if declined)
- COVID vaccine or declination form
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required (one from most recent employer within 1 year, second within 2 years)
- Employment application covering last 3 years with documented gaps over 30 days (resume alone insufficient)
- Facility-specific job description form must be completed prior to start
- Security question form, confidentiality agreement, substance abuse screening policy acknowledgment required before start
- Photo for badge required (clear headshot with preferably plain background)
- Radiation badge request form required for Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer role
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
- Unit manager approval needed for certain scheduling and return-to-office policies
- Facility strongly recommends vaccinations but accepts declinations with masking policies in place
This position offers a specialized pediatric echocardiography opportunity in a Level I trauma teaching hospital setting with a structured 4x10 day shift and on-call responsibilities. Candidates must meet pediatric echo experience thresholds and hold required certifications to qualify.
