Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with a minimum of 2 years of experience and required pediatric echo expertise for a travel assignment at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting at a 268-bed Magnet-recognized, Level I Trauma teaching facility
- Dedicated pediatric echo unit utilizing an extensive pediatric protocol covering all anatomical views including Subxiphoid, Parasternal, Suprasternal, Right Parasternal, and Apical
- 4x10 hour day shifts, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- On-call required from 5:30 PM Monday through 7:00 AM Friday
- Weekend coverage required on an as-needed basis
- Charting via Cerner
- No floating required
- Free parking available
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer
- Significant pediatric echo experience required — candidates should have completed approximately 1,000 pediatric echoes, achieved through at least 1 year of full-time pediatric work averaging 20 echoes/week, or 4–5 years of part-time work averaging 4–5 echoes/week with full pediatric protocol
- Current BLS, ACLS, and ARRT certifications required
- State license required if applicable
- Experience with Cerner preferred
- Preferred skills include EP, Structural Heart, MacLab, and Xper
Additional Information
- Perform comprehensive pediatric echocardiograms using full anatomical protocol to support diagnosis of congenital and acquired cardiac abnormalities
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Any scrub color is acceptable
- RTO requests require unit manager approval and must be submitted upfront
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
- A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
