Description
Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Travel/Contract
Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Unit: Med Surg/Renal/Diabetes (5 West)
- Patient Ratio: 1:7
- Shift: Night (4x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Schedule Options: 3x12 or 4x12 shifts (OT after 48 hours on 4x12)
- Rotation: Every Other Weekend (EOW), float, and holidays required within contract
- Electronic Health Record: EPIC proficiency required (no exceptions)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background:
- Clean background with zero tolerance for any license or background hits
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and for renewals
- Identification: Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during work hours
- Fingerprinting: Required via Virginia State Police National Criminal Background Check
- Physical Exam: Within 12 months of start, updated annually
- Fit Mask: N95 fit test required within 1 year of start, updated annually (PAPR not allowed)
- Immunizations & Health:
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or Tspot) within 1 year; annual TB testing required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within past 10 years (no exemptions accepted)
- Titers required within 10 years for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella (boosters or declinations allowed based on unit)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination required annually (or approved exemption with mask requirement)
- COVID vaccine preferred but not required; documentation collected if available
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
- References: Proof of 2 professional references required
- Employment Application and Resume: Required
- Skills Checklist: Unit-specific checklist required, updated annually
- Pass/Fail Testing:
- EKG/Medication competency test required at orientation; must score 80% or higher (one attempt only)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for MS/Tele RNs
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement: Required
- Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo required before start (specific requirements apply)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must submit a Qualivis Cover Sheet and current NURSYS report including all Return to Office (RTO) information
- Facility enforces strict compliance with all documentation and certification deadlines; failure to comply may result in assignment cancellation or delay
- Candidates must complete time-sensitive facility-specific documents within 48 hours of signing contract
