Occupational Therapist - Acute Care Hospital (Travel/Contract)

Location: Lafayette, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5x8 hours)
Additional: One weekend day per month required


Job Description

  • Work as part of an inpatient acute care rehab team serving patients across all acuity levels, including ICU and progressive care units.
  • Patient diagnoses include cardiac procedures (CABG), stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), joint replacement, fracture repairs, respiratory illnesses, dementia, MS, Parkinson’s disease, ambulation issues, and more.
  • Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing and following plans of care (POC) that may involve ADL training, therapeutic exercises, and activities to improve function.
  • Assess appropriateness of discharge disposition recommendations daily.
  • Charting is done using Cerner.
  • Scrub color: Royal Blue; shoes: Black.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in Indiana
  • Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in an acute care setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
