Job Opportunity: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Details

Employment Type: Contractor
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour Night Shift
Hours per Week: 36

Facility Overview

Level IV Trauma Center
Primary Stroke Center
Accredited Chest Pain Center
Active Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) program with RN on-call 24/7
Total Beds: 74 (21 + 6 bed annex)

Patient Population

All ages

Patient Ratios

RN: 1:4 (Days & Nights)
Tech: 1:8 (Days & Nights)

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- TNCC/TNS (Trauma Nursing Core Course/Trauma Nurse Specialist)
- CPI or MOAB (Crisis Prevention Intervention or Management of Aggressive Behavior)
Critical care level skill set
RN license appropriate for the role

Orientation & Scheduling

Orientation: At least 1 shift to learn unit flow
Weekend rotation: 1 weekend per month
Time off: Up to 7 days approved
No call required
No holiday work expectations

Unit Support

Charge nurse with reduced patient assignment
Hospitalist and ED MD in-house 24/7
Hospital Unit Coordinator (HUC) available 24/7
Phlebotomy support for peripheral blood draws
Nursing station telemetry monitoring without telemetry tech

Technology & Equipment

EMR system: EPIC
IV Pumps: Alaris
Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
Patient Monitors: GE
