Description

Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/ICU

Location: Salisbury, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week


Job Overview

  • This RN role is shared between Intermediate Care (IMC) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) units.
  • Responsible for managing high acuity patients who are too critical for a medical/surgical floor but may not require full ICU care.
  • Patient populations include sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, post open-heart procedures, continuous cardiac infusions, and those requiring acute continuous non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP).
  • Requires continuous cardiac and respiratory monitoring with readiness to intervene quickly for changes in hemodynamics or respiratory status.
  • The IMC environment is fast-paced and teamwork-driven, providing high acuity care.
  • The RN develops, implements, and evaluates individualized care plans and serves as an advocate and educator for patients and families.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Maryland
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Information

  • Orientation: 8 hours of non-billable orientation; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation.
  • Call-Off Policy: Assignment may be canceled up to 12 hours before the shift during the 13-week contract.
  • Local Radius: Candidates must be outside a 100-mile radius; local candidates are not accepted.
