Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (L&D)

Location

• Salisbury, Maryland

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Labor & Delivery unit with 13 labor beds, 3 triage rooms, and 2 operating rooms
• Approximately 170 deliveries per month
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1-2:1
• Care includes antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, immediate PACU recovery post c-section (no circulating required), and newborn care

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts
• On-call shifts average 12 hours every 4 weeks
• Weekend work required, usually every 3rd weekend but can be up to every other weekend

Orientation & Training

• 8 hours of non-billable general hospital orientation
• Typically 3 shifts of unit-specific orientation with a preceptor on 12-hour day shifts
• Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation

Equipment Used

• Epic EMR
• Pericalm fetal monitoring surveillance
• Omnicell medication dispensing system

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or compact state
• BLS (AHA) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Minimum 1 year of L&D nursing experience preferred 2 years

Additional Information

• Floating may occur to postpartum unit if census is low; no floating outside OB
• Dress code: hospital-provided scrubs
• Local candidates are not accepted; 100-mile radius restriction applies
• Client may cancel assignment up to 12 hours before shift during the 13-week contract
