Cath Lab Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Greensboro, North Carolina
Job Details
- Position: Cath Lab Registered Nurse
- Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM), Monday to Friday
- Schedule Notes:
- Occasional late shifts required a few times per month
- STEMI call required: approximately one week of call over 12-16 weeks, including 24-hour call on weekends and some half-night and overnight call shifts
- Must be ready to respond within 30 minutes of STEMI activation
- Holidays as needed
- First-time travelers are welcome
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years as a Registered Nurse
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Licensure: Valid Registered Nurse license for North Carolina with primary source verification required within 30 days of start
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Pass/Fail EKG (Dysrhythmia) exam required for all RNs (2 attempts allowed, must score 82% or higher)
- Scrubs provided
Clinical Skills and Knowledge
- Proficient with Orbital atherectomy, Rotational atherectomy, IABP, IMPELLA, OTC, ECMO, flow wire, manifold, sheath pulling, and other Cath lab adjuncts
- Ability to monitor cases using XPER and EPIC's CUPID systems
- STEMI call readiness and response capability
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (required for badge issuance)
- Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years, including aliases, national criminal search, federal court, sex offender registry, education verification, and international searches if applicable
- Education verification: Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required; foreign equivalency evaluation required if education was obtained outside the U.S.
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
- Verification of all employment within the last 5 years through a third-party vendor
- Two supervisory references required (one within 12 months, one within 24 months prior to start)
- Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal
- Facility-specific documents including health history form, job description review, dress code acknowledgment, floating policy, and contractor equipment acknowledgment
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgment
- Acknowledgment of pass/fail testing policies (EKG and EPIC)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam (if applicable) within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test completed within the current calendar year and updated annually (approved N95 respirators required)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- Immunizations/vaccinations required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult vaccine proof required)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines at least 28 days apart
- Hepatitis B: Titer or declination required; booster series if non-reactive
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 22 – Feb 27)
- Negative TB test (Qgold/TSPOT) within 6 months of start or chest X-ray if positive history, plus annual TB questionnaire
Additional Requirements
- Completion of Workday login and onboarding tasks prior to start
- Badge photo meeting strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire, forward-facing pose)
- STEMI call readiness with ability to respond within 30 minutes
- Must be flexible with scheduling and adhere to zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Must complete Pass/Fail EKG exam required by the facility regardless of specialty
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum of 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- STEMI call participation required with ability to respond promptly
Prior Travel Experience
- Not required; first-time travelers are accepted
