Description

Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health (Travel/Contract)

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: Night (3 shifts of 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Hours: 36 hours per week (option to work 36 or 48 hours)
Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday off
Time off: Can approve 40 hours for time off

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
Minimum of 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing experience within the last year
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation

Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) must be carried during hours of service
Official transcript or diploma required for education verification (photocopies not accepted)
Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required
Employment application/resume required
Skills checklist and competency exams must be current and updated annually
Professional appearance guidelines must be reviewed and acknowledged
Release authorization, TB screening, traveler compliance, and fit testing acknowledgment forms must be completed prior to start
Latex allergy questionnaire required if applicable (must be completed and submitted separately)

Additional Notes

Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
Candidates must complete fingerprinting and background checks with sufficient lead time (fingerprint results ETA 2–4 weeks)
Pass/Fail testing includes a Basic Rhythm Interpretation Assessment with a minimum passing score of 80-90% depending on unit
Radiation badges are not provided for new candidates; if required, must be supplied by the client
Candidate must be able to work nights and meet the physical demands of the role
