Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Rehab
Location: Nashua, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Varied Shifts

Job Description
- Provide professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit, carrying out provider orders.
- Complete comprehensive clinical documentation including care plans each shift.
- Communicate patient information effectively through bedside shift reports, multidisciplinary rounds, and hourly rounding (AIDET).
- Maintain compliance with unit-specific competencies and complete required learning modules on time.
- Promote a culture of well-being and a positive atmosphere within the department.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following established procedures.
- Identify and assist in correcting patient care safety issues; participate in daily unit-based safety huddles.
- Stay current with nurse-sensitive indicators such as CAUTI, CLABSI, CDIFF, HAPU, FALLS, HH, and VAE.
- Actively participate in quality initiatives and performance improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with nurses across departments and assist team members as needed.
- Serve as a preceptor for new nurses and work collaboratively with nursing students and instructors.
- Participate in peer feedback, employee engagement surveys, and unit problem-solving.
- Delegate care and unit activities appropriately to nursing personnel.
- Complete a dysrhythmia course prior to orientation completion (required for telemetry-based departments).
- Maintain current nursing licensure and certifications required for the department.
- For Occupational Health roles: enter orders for labs, x-rays, EKGs, follow up on tests per protocol, and document point-of-care tests.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 1 year of rehabilitation nursing experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Additional Information
- Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid.
- The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
- Commitment to safe practices and shared governance philosophy is expected.
- Avoid unauthorized overtime and manage earned time off per policy.
