Description
Registered Nurse – Endoscopy (Travel/Contract)
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Job Summary
- Inpatient Endoscopy RN role with responsibilities including floating within the GI Suite based on competency.
- No on-call or weekend requirements.
- Orientation available on July 13 or July 27.
- Flu vaccination is mandatory for all travelers.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in District of Columbia (must have applied and possess license prior to start).
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum 2 years of endoscopy experience, including experience within the last year.
- Experience in inpatient settings, including Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Pre-Op.
- One completed travel nursing assignment.
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- PALS certification.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required if driving is an essential job function.
- Criminal background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years. Background checks must be updated every 3 years or after a 6-month gap in service.
- I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start.
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), covering multiple substances. New drug screen required if break in service exceeds 6 months.
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
- Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon, or T-spot) within 1 year; if history of TB, additional documentation required. TB questionnaire required annually.
- Immunization documentation required for:
- Flu vaccine (or approved medical/religious exemption) for current flu season.
- Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer).
- Varicella (2 VZV vaccines or positive titer).
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination).
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed).
Competency & Training Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam prior to start and updated every 3 years (minimum 80% score).
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually with specific scoring criteria for lethal rhythms (for applicable units).
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules (Sitels) prior to start date.
- Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual.
Experience & References
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years.
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information.
Additional Notes
- Floating within the GI Suite may be required based on competency.
- Local travel rate applies within 60 miles of the facility.
- No weekends or on-call shifts required.
