Registered Nurse - Post Partum/Mom Baby

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Mother Baby Unit
Beds: 34 private couplet rooms
Staff per shift:
- Day: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
- Night: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
Patient Ratios: 1:3-4 couplets
Equipment: Alaris pumps, Bilirubin blankets/lights
EMR System: Cerner

Job Description

Provide nursing care on a Mother Baby Unit caring for postpartum mothers and newborns
Typical procedures include circumcisions
Caring for patients on Magnesium Sulfate post-delivery
Opportunity to float to Labor & Delivery and NICU as needed
Team-oriented environment with emphasis on teaching and collaboration

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of postpartum nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
BLS certification
NRP certification

Schedule & Work Hours

36 hours per week
Weekends required
No on-call shifts

Additional Notes

Dress code: Navy blue/white scrubs
