CT Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Maryville, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis following safety protocols.
• Use independent judgment and knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy to perform technical procedures.
• Communicate procedures to patients to reduce apprehension and ensure patient care.

Shift Details

• Weekend shifts only: Friday through Sunday
• 3 shifts per weekend, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• On-call coverage as needed for call-offs

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a CT Technologist
• First-time travel technologists are accepted
• Experience with GE equipment/scanners
• Skills required: IV starts, phlebotomy, PACS, contrast administration

Required Certifications & Licenses

• ARRT certification (Formal Radiologic Technology training from AMA-approved school)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) certification
• ACLS and PALS certifications are required (American Heart Association)

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks including:

  • 7 years of residence/work/school verification
  • SS Trace, County, Nationwide, Sex Offender, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
  • Illinois Adult Abuse Registry Search (can pend at start)
• Education verification (transcript or diploma acceptable)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing within 12 months (specific mask types required)
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella proof or declination (for those born 1957 or later)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccine, or history of chickenpox)
• Drug screening: 9-panel within 1 year
• COVID-19 exemptions allowed (medical and religious)
• 2 professional references within 2 years
• Resume required
• 7 years of work history verification (attestations allowed after 3 attempts)
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

Uniform

• Black scrubs required

This position is ideal for CT Technologists with at least 2 years of experience seeking weekend travel assignments in a hospital setting with diverse patient populations and a variety of clinical environments.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in Illinois
• Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience working with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Proficiency with PACS
• Experience with Meditech system
