Description

Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (Travel)

Location

  • Denver, Colorado

Job Type

  • Travel assignment

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Unit Information

  • Unit: Labor & Delivery
  • Number of beds: 26
  • Number of staff: 52
  • Shift staffing (minimum):
    • Day shift: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
    • Night shift: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 1 ORT
  • Patient ratios:
    • Antepartum patients: 1:4
    • Laboring patients: 1:1 or 1:2 (estimated)
  • Equipment used: Alaris pumps
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Meditech with CPN charting

Typical Procedures

  • Care for laboring patients
  • Antepartum care
  • Cesarean sections (C/S)
  • Cerclage procedures
  • Early delivery of babies (EDOB)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Colorado
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
  • Experience working with High Risk patients
  • Certifications required:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Preferred Experience

  • Mom-baby or couplet care experience

Work Schedule

  • Approximately 36 hours per week
