ICU RN (Travel) - Salem, Massachusetts
Job Details
- Specialty: RN ICU (Medical ICU)
- Employment Type: Travel
- Shift: Nights and Every Other Weekend (EOW), 36 hours per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Unit: 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (Level III Trauma Center)
- Patient Population: Adult patients with conditions such as substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
- Floating: Required to Medical/Surgical units (up to 4-5 patients)
- RN to Patient Ratio: 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated
- EMR System: EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of continuous adult ICU experience, preferably in a Medical ICU
- Licensure: Active Massachusetts RN license (no conditional licenses accepted)
- Certifications:
- AHA BLS (American Heart Association Basic Life Support)
- AHA ACLS (American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- Skills: Must be able to read telemetry strips (Telemetry competency required)
- Shift Flexibility: Night shift does not rotate; day shifts rotate between 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a when needed
Required Health and Compliance Credentials
- N95 fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no onsite fit testing; must use specific fit test form)
- Respirator Medical Clearance (RMC) attestation
- Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity proof
- TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if break >6 months; if positive, chest x-ray required
- Physician health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if break >6 months
- Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, including Massachusetts CORI and national sex offender registry checks
- Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days of start and annually
- Verification of highest level of education
- Social Security Number trace covering past 7 years
- Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
- Two professional references within 4 years (minimum one supervisor or above in skillset)
- Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission
- Confirmation of assignment/point of interest form upon acceptance and updates if start date changes
- Candidate submission coversheet for initial assignment and new facility submissions
- Beeline attestation completed after registration
Additional Information
- Free on-site parking available
- Floating may require caring for up to 4-5 patients on Med/Surg units
- Attending physicians and residents are present 24/7 in the ICU
This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs with strong telemetry skills and the ability to float to medical/surgical units, seeking a travel assignment in Massachusetts.
