Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location: Aurora, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Information

  • Unit: PC2 Progressive Care (PCU)
  • Beds: 345
  • Magnet Designation: 3-time recipient
  • Staff: Float pool of about 80
  • Shifts: Day and night shifts staffed by RNs and CNAs
  • Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:5 (varies by unit and shift)
  • Equipment: Various medical equipment used
  • EMR System: Meditech
  • Patient Population: Large cardiac population with 2 telemetry floors and PCU
  • Floating: Required to float to inpatient Medical/Telemetry and Rehab units

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Colorado
  • Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
  • Acute care experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Meditech EMR experience
  • Chemotherapy certification (to work on Oncology unit if needed)

  • Candidates without the required acute care PCU experience and certifications will not be considered
