Job Opportunity: Oncology Registered Nurse

Location: Issaquah, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Support outpatient MDs in clinic, focusing on infusion needs.
  • Requires acute care medical-surgical oncology experience.
  • Outpatient oncology experience preferred, with extensive chemotherapy experience.
  • Schedule options:
    • Primary: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
    • Alternative: 4 days a week, 9-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
  • No weekends or call requirements.
  • Accepts first-time travelers.
  • Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible to work as travelers here.
  • Active compact nursing licenses are honored in Washington.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, including at least 1 year of hematology/oncology experience within the last year.
  • Chemotherapy administration experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Required Compliance and Documentation

  • Government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license or state ID).
  • Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 verification).
  • Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
  • Education verification required for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report.
  • NURSYS license verification required.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work.
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination.
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
    • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
  • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel staff.
  • Fit mask testing required annually for travel staff.
  • Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS.
  • Photo for badge with neutral background required.

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete Washington State Board of Nursing Multi-State Licensed Nurse Demographic Attestation prior to start if working with an out-of-state compact license.
  • Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities.
  • Epic training modules completion required within one week of orientation.
  • Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
  • Competency exams and skills checklists must be current and updated annually.

Work Hours and Shift Details

  • Night shift available: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (1:30 PM - 5:00 PM).
  • Total 40 hours per week.

Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not required.
  • This position supports infusion in an outpatient oncology clinic setting.
  • No weekend or on-call duties.
