Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)

Location: Lima, Ohio
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Nights
Shift Length: 12 hours
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Responsible and accountable for patient care during assigned shift.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria.
• Make clinical judgments based on scientific knowledge and skills.
• Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries.
• Must float to units within scope of practice and skill set; refusal may result in being sent home without pay for the week.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Competency with cardiac medications including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardine, Dobutamine, Lasix, Bumex, including titration and application

Work Environment & Additional Information

• Bed count: 26 beds.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: approximately 4 to 5 patients per nurse.
• Dress code: Navy Blue.
• Electronic Medical Record system: MediTech.
• Nonbillable hours: 8 hours.
• Overtime, holiday, and callback shifts compensated at 1.25x regular rates.
• Candidates with more than 7 days off requested or seeking more than 50% holidays off are not eligible for expedited processing.
• Negative background or employment history may affect processing timeline.
