Description

Registered Nurse (Telemetry) - Travel Assignment

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Information

  • Unit: Trauma Telemetry (A4W Trauma Tele)
  • Beds: 36
  • Staff: 50+
  • Day Shift Staffing: 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, 3 CNAs, 1 HUC, 1-2 sitters
  • Night Shift Staffing: 1 charge nurse, 7 RNs, 3 CNAs, 0.5 HUC, 1-2 sitters
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
    • Day RN: 1:5-6
    • Night RN: 1:6-7
  • Equipment: Medical remote telemetry monitoring, Cerner Patient Observation (CPO), VC150 monitors in every patient room, workstation on wheels for every staff member, Tap and Go computer/documentation access
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner

Job Description

  • Prepare patients for Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology (IR), and Operating Room (OR) procedures
  • Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Provide compassionate, hard-working nursing care

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • Cardiac Rhythm Identification Assessment
  • Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership experience
  • Charge Nurse experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Work Schedule & Policies

  • Must sign up for 6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks (Friday, Saturday, Sunday count as weekend shifts on night shift)
  • Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom), white top with navy blue bottom, or all white scrubs
  • Floating Areas: Med-Surg units 3W, 5W, K8 (sister units)
