Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location
- Media, Pennsylvania
Employment Type
- Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Day shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Guaranteed hours
- Block scheduling accommodated
- Floating within scope between similar units required
Unit & Patient Care
- Medical-Surgical / Telemetry unit
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
- Acute care facility with 230 staffed beds
- Charting system: Epic
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association, Red Cross, Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation, or ASHI
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for Pennsylvania required
- Pending licenses are not accepted
Special Requirements & Preferences
- Experience in ER holding, Medical-Surgical/Telemetry, and Telemetry units
- ACLS preferred but not explicitly required
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 1 year of start
- Unit-specific competency exam required within 1 year of start
Background & Compliance
- Criminal background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years; updated every 3 years
- Education verification (diploma, degree, or transcripts)
- SAM/GSA and OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly
- NURSYS verification required
- 3 professional references required (most recent manager, previous manager, peer)
- Employment application and skills checklist required
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam or statement of good health within 1 year prior to assignment, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 1 year prior to start, updated annually (specific mask types required)
- Negative TB test (QuantiFERON Gold or T-Spot) within 6 months prior to assignment; chest x-ray if positive test
- Annual TB questionnaire required for positive TB test or in lieu of annual TB test renewal
- Required immunizations or titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (with booster vaccines if negative titers)
- 10-panel drug screen within 45 days of start, updated annually
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Sept–April 1); mask required if exempt
- Respirator clearance within 1 year prior to start, updated annually
Additional Facility Requirements
- Proof of government-issued photo ID and valid driver’s license without restrictions
- Completion of facility-specific healthstream modules prior to start
- Confidentiality agreement must be reviewed and signed
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
This position does not require on-call duties. Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted but at a different rate. Return-to-office restrictions are at manager’s discretion.
