Job Opportunity: RN - Women's Health and Obstetrics

Position Details

• Employment Type: Contractor
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour Night Shift
• Hours per Week: 36

Unit and Patient Information

• Unit Type: Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, Postpartum, and Nursery Care
• Unit Beds: 8 LDRP/Antepartum beds
• Patient Types:

  • Labor & Delivery patients >35 weeks gestation
  • Gynecological surgeries
  • Antepartum and postpartum patients
• Patient Ratios:

  • Laboring patients: 1:1
  • Couplets/Antepartum/Surgical patients: 1:3

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) experience, including experience within the last year
• Labor and Delivery experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) certification

Orientation and Support

• Orientation:

  • Neonatal orientation provided
  • At least one shift to learn unit flow
• Department Support:

  • Charge RN available to assist with patient care as needed
  • RN draws blood
  • FHM monitoring at bedside and nurse’s station (no telemetry)
  • Resource RN and Respiratory Therapist (RRT) support
  • OB physician available with a 30-minute callback time

Technology and Equipment

• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
• IV Pump: Alaris
• Medication Dispensing System: Pyxis

Additional Information

• Floating: May float to inpatient units to act as a sitter or in a CNA role
• Scheduling:

  • Weekend rotation every other weekend
  • On-call schedule varies based on contract
  • Holiday time off requests can be approved up to 7 days
• Scrub Color: Any color allowed
• Parking: Available in designated yellow-lined areas in front of the building or near the Emergency Department

This position is suitable for RNs with experience in women's health and obstetrics seeking a contract role on night shifts. First-time travelers may be considered upon review.
