CT Technologist (General Imaging)

Job Type

• Contractor
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 8-hour day shift
• Hours per week: 40

Facility & Unit Information

• 60-bed facility, Level IV Trauma Center, Stroke Ready
• Unit has 2 CT scanners with shared control room
• Average workload: approximately 20 scans per shift per technologist
• No floating required

Patient Population & Procedures

• Patient types: Outpatients, Emergency Department, inpatients, Level II Trauma scans
• Age range: mostly toddlers and adults; infants rarely
• Common scans: strokes, brain CT angiographies (CTAs), CT perfusions, abdomen, extremities, spine, neck, head, pulmonary embolisms
• Special procedures: biopsies and CT perfusions preferred

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• ARRT (CT) certification
• BLS certification

Skills & Experience

• Comfortable working independently
• Experience with stroke and brain CTA scans required
• Canon and Toshiba CT scanner experience highly preferred (manager approval needed if lacking)
• IV starts, CT perfusions, and biopsy/special procedure experience preferred

Orientation & Training

• New Employee Orientation (NEO)
• 3 days of unit-specific orientation

Support & Team

• 2 CT technologists on day shift, 1 CT technologist after 6:30 PM
• Imaging Patient Assistant available until 9:00 PM for transport and room turnover
• Concierge at imaging desk for outpatient needs
• Radiology nurse available until 4:00 PM
• Phlebotomy services in hospital
• House supervisor available for IV support after hours
• Lead CT technologist on site during day shift
• Respiratory therapy, MRI, and X-ray available 24/7

Technology & Equipment

• EMR system: EPIC (preferred)
• PACS: McKesson
• Medication dispensing: Pyxis
• CT scanners: Canon 80-slice and 40-slice models

Scheduling & Work Expectations

• Weekend rotation required (details in requisition)
• No on-call duties
• Holiday work required if it falls on a scheduled day
• Requests for time off require manager approval
• Set schedule cycle
