Description
Mammography Technologist (Contract)
Location: Edwards, Colorado
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: Days, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (36 hours/week)
Job Summary
Perform breast imaging procedures including mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound, and assist with breast ultrasound biopsy. Follow MQSA and ACR guidelines to ensure quality and safety. Provide patient education and coordinate continuity of care related to breast health.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and review breast imaging exams for technical accuracy and present findings to radiologists.
- Conduct quality control checks on imaging equipment per MQSA and ACR standards.
- Communicate clearly with patients before, during, and after procedures to guide them through their care.
- Schedule and coordinate breast imaging appointments to maintain workflow and patient care quality.
- Assist with department workflow management and inventory control.
- Participate in breast health education and promotional events.
- Support orientation of new employees and healthcare professionals.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and adhere to organizational values and Just Culture principles.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Mammography Technologist license in Colorado
- Minimum 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience within the last year
- ARRT Mammography (M) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Frequent standing (40%), sitting (20%), and walking (20%).
- Occasional squatting, bending, and twisting (5% each).
- Exposure to radiation, toxic chemicals, biological hazards, noise, dust, and stress typical of healthcare settings.
- Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines, independently or as part of a team.

- Geriatric patients (80+ years)
Additional Information
- Must comply with Colorado state CAPS registration requirements (may take up to two weeks to obtain).
- This position requires punctuality and reliability to start shifts on time and deliver quality patient care.
