Outpatient Wound RN (40 hrs/week, Days)

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Setting: Outpatient Wound Clinic

Job Description

• Provide wound care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for outpatients.
• Manage chronic and rehabilitative care for patients with difficult-to-heal wounds.
• Collaborate with the patient care team to adjust treatments as needed.
• Educate patients and caregivers on wound care, infection prevention, injury prevention, and pressure ulcer care.
• Coordinate Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) services.
• Patient volume: 20-35 patients per day, supported by 3-4 nurses and 1-2 providers.
• Use Epic electronic medical record system for documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 1 year of wound care experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience coordinating Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) services

• No rotating shifts; fixed outpatient clinic hours.
• Patient population primarily consists of chronic wound patients.
• The role operates within established organizational policies and reports to the program manager.
