Description

Job Opportunity: Utilization Review Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Pocatello, Idaho
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

The Utilization Review Nurse is responsible for:

  • Medical necessity review, discharge planning, and utilization review.
  • Communicating changes in patient care plans to the healthcare team.
  • Maintaining knowledge of community resources and referral processes.
  • Anticipating patient needs and facilitating timely transitions to alternative levels of care.
  • Documenting screenings and discharge plans consistently and promptly.

The unit accepts first-time travel nurses. Candidates must be willing to comply with a 100-mile radius rule (no local candidates).


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Idaho
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 1 year of case management experience within the last year
  • Experience in utilization review
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
