Description
Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit during night shifts.
- Must have a minimum of 18 months recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience.
- ECG rhythm recognition test and medication safety exam (SafeMedicate) must be passed during orientation.
- One recent reference from a manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty is required to qualify for submission. Charge RN references accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1.5 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to perform essential job functions.
- Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months, updated annually.
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tdap (every 10 years)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titers)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months; annual TB questionnaire if history of positive TB.
- Seasonal flu vaccination required annually (no declinations accepted; medical/religious exemptions must be approved).
- Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted).
Background and Compliance
- Background check required prior to start, including a 7-year FCRA-compliant search.
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start and updated annually; must be completed prior to start.
- Primary source verification of RN license within 30 days of start.
- Nursys verification within 30 days of start.
- Completion of facility-specific onboarding modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome).
- Photo ID (government-issued) required and must be carried on assignment.
Additional Notes
- Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start.
- Candidates with a gap of less than 6 months since their last assignment at this facility may be exempt from some orientation exams and module requirements.
- All certifications expiring within 30 days of start must be renewed prior to starting.
- Candidates must complete all required onboarding modules before clearance to start.
- References must be from employment within one year of start and from a manager, supervisor, or director (co-worker references not accepted).
This position requires a dedicated, experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RN with current Ohio licensure and certifications, ready to work night shifts on a travel contract basis.
