Description
Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Ophthalmology)
Location: Hartford, Connecticut
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Monday – Thursday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Schedule Details: No call, weekends, or holidays
Job Summary
Provide nursing care in the Operating Room specializing in ophthalmology surgeries including cataracts, glaucoma, corneal transplant, and ocular plastics for adult patients. Care is delivered following hospital policies and AORN and ASPAN standards. Responsibilities include patient teaching tailored to age and cultural needs and participation in quality improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Connecticut
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
- Ophthalmology experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Work Environment
- Fast-paced, progressive surgery center specializing in adult ophthalmic surgeries
- Located in an eye surgery center setting
