Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Travel/Contract)

Location: Fishers, Indiana
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Work on the sole Medical Surgical unit in a community hospital setting.
• Patient population includes admits from OR, ED, and downgrades from ICU/PCU.
• Average admissions: 8-12 patients per 24-hour period.
• Typical patient-to-nurse ratio goal: 5:1, with occasional flexing to 6:1.
• Float assignments possible every other week, limited to Medical Surgical patients in ICU/PCU or ED holds.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Work Requirements

• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract.
• Locals are not accepted for this position.

Notes

• Charge pay is offered for this position.
• Float assignments are rare but possible every other week.
• This is a night shift position with 36 hours per week.
