Description
Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Media, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
- Unit: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry (MS/Tele)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing within the last year
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam or statement of good health within one year prior to assignment start, updated annually
- Fit test for respirator mask within one year prior to start, updated annually
- Negative QuantiFERON Gold or T-Spot TB test within 6 months prior to start (PPD not accepted); if positive, negative chest x-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) vaccine recommended every 10 years
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive IgG titers for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (boosters if negative)
- Hepatitis B titer and vaccine series or declination
- 2 Varicella vaccines or positive IgG titer (boosters if negative)
- 10-panel drug screen within 45 days of start, updated annually
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (September - April 1); exemptions require mask wearing
- Respirator clearance required within 1 year prior to start, updated annually
Competency and Training
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required within 1 year of start
- Unit-specific competency exam required within 1 year of start
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required
- Completion of facility-specific mandatory training modules prior to start (tracked electronically; must be completed by Friday noon ET before start date)
Documentation and Background Checks
- Government-issued photo ID and valid driver’s license without restrictions required
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Education verification (diploma, degree, or transcripts) required
- E-Verify, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and OIG checks required and updated monthly
- National certification and primary source verification required for all licensed candidates
- Background checks include SSN trace, county, national criminal, sex offender, OFAC, education verification, and DMV check (for Home Health only)
Additional Notes
- Documentation retention is managed by the staffing agency
- Candidate must review and sign confidentiality agreement prior to assignment
- References must clearly indicate direct supervision; Charge RN references only accepted if direct supervisor
- No prior travel experience explicitly required for this position
