Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CCU

Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 10 hours each, 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 30 hours
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:3


Unit Description

  • Interventional Cardiac / Procedure Unit
  • Care for interventional cardiac patients including pre/post invasive and diagnostic procedures such as cardioversion, angiogram, elective PCI, EP patients (ablation, lead placement, pacer placement), pre-TAVR & Mitral Clip, and post-op recovery for structural heart procedures discharged same day.
  • Procedures include TEE, cardioversion, procedure sedation, blood/blood products administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, epicardial pacer management, sheath removal, telemetry interpretation, heparin and insulin management.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Coronary Care Unit (CCU), with at least some experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
  • Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Strong IV skills and sheath pull experience
  • Experience with telemetry interpretation

Required Documents & Background Checks

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card (as applicable)
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
  • E-Verify attestation
  • Education verification (nursing degree)
  • NURSYS license verification
  • WA State Patrol Search within 90 days of start (updated every 2 years for certain facility types)
  • References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps/overlaps

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
  • Fit mask test (annual, travel only)
  • Immunizations and/or titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
    • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)

Competencies & Training

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS (Workramp)
  • Epic training modules completion required within orientation week
  • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units

Additional Notes

  • Floating policy acknowledgment required; may float to other nearby facilities
  • No weekend, holiday, or call shifts
  • Locals are eligible
  • Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers are not accepted
