Job Opportunity: Surgical Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Details

• Employment Type: Contractor
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 8-hour Day Shift
• Hours per Week: 32

Facility Overview

• Small community hospital with 64 licensed beds
• 4 Operating Rooms (ORs)
• Transfers patients to a larger medical center in Milwaukee
• Free parking provided
• Scrub color provided

Patient and Case Types

• Patient populations include Gynecology (GYN), General Surgery, Ear/Nose/Throat (ENT), Urology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, and Vascular cases

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 2 years of OR circulate experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
• Ability to scrub a variety of cases

Skills and Responsibilities

• RN role primarily involves circulating during surgeries
• Some RNs may scrub to assist as surgical tech or retractors
• Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) must be able to scrub a variety of cases and hold BLS certification

Technology and Equipment

• Charting and medication systems used include EPIC, Pyxis, and Alaris pumps

Orientation and Scheduling

• One day of orientation provided
• Weekend rotation with on-call duties every 4th weekend
• Call frequency: once per week plus every 4th weekend
• Time off requests cannot be approved during the contract
