Registered Nurse - Newborn Nursery

Location: El Paso, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Overview

• Unit Type: Newborn Nursery / Transition Nursery
• Number of Beds: 10 beds, plus 1 procedure room, 2 ORs, and 4 triage bays
• Staff on Unit: 9 total (6 RNs day shift, 2 RNs night shift plus 1 contract and 1 orientee)
• Patient Ratios: 1 RN to 3 patients; vapotherm patients 1:1 ratio
• Equipment: Panda warmers, cribs, all NRP equipment, hospital-grade breast pumps
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech/CPN
• Call Requirements: No call required
• Weekend Schedule: Rotating weekends
• Permanent Night Positions Available

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of nursery experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with STABLE protocol (preferred but not required)

• Apgar scoring
• Ballard assessment
• Medication administration
• Vapotherm therapy
