X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology) - Travel/Contract

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Night shift, Monday to Thursday, 4x10-hour shifts (8:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Call: Required if needed
  • Work Environment:
    • Level II trauma center with adult and pediatric emergency services
    • Supports 21 OR rooms, 3 endoscopy rooms, 2 fluoroscopy rooms, 50-bed NICU, and day surgery center
    • High volume: 250-300+ exams per day, with 100-125 portable exams daily
    • Procedures include lumbar punctures, myelograms, swallowing studies, esophagrams, UGIs, barium enemas, bronchoscopies, ERCPs, ORIFs, hip replacements, spinal fusions, cystograms
    • Equipment used: Samsung, Carestream, Siemens, Phillips x-ray machines; GE OEC C-arms and O-arm
    • Fast-paced central department covering fluoro, OR, inpatient, outpatient, ED, and NICU imaging

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiology Technologist license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ARRT (R) certification
  • Experience with PACS
  • Portable X-ray experience
  • C-Arm experience
  • Contrast administration experience
  • Operating room (OR) imaging experience
  • Fluoroscopy experience
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical record system

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card (for badge issuance)
  • Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including aliases, criminal, sex offender, federal court, education verification, and international searches if applicable
  • Education verification by a third party, including diploma/transcript as applicable
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
  • Immunizations and health documents:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine proof
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
  • Fit mask test (N95 respirator) completed within current calendar year and updated annually
  • Fingerprinting required only if assigned to Home Health or Long-Term Care (not typical for this role)

Testing & Competencies

  • EPIC test: Pass required (2 attempts allowed, 3rd attempt possible with manager approval)
  • Pass/fail EKG/Dysrhythmia test required (2 attempts allowed, must score 82% or higher)
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable (80% passing score)
  • Color vision test required (90% passing score)
  • Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal

References & Work History

  • Two supervisory references required from clinical assignments within the last 24 months (one within 12 months)
  • Employment application/resume with 7 years of work history
  • Verification of all employment within the last 5 years through a third party

Additional Notes

  • Strict zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
  • Candidate must be flexible with scheduling
  • Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, no hats, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire, forward-facing)
  • Candidates will receive Workday login and onboarding tasks prior to start, including multi-factor authentication setup

This position offers a challenging and fast-paced environment requiring strong radiology skills, experience with advanced imaging equipment, and proficiency in EPIC. It is ideal for radiologic technologists seeking travel assignments with exposure to trauma and surgical imaging in a Level II trauma center setting.
