Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Main Operating Room with 13 ORs
• Patient ratio: 1:1
• Staffing includes RNs, Surgical Techs, Support Staff, Board Runners
• Equipment used: Stryker Ortho Systems, Stryker Lap Towers, DIV Xi Robots (x2), MAKO Navigation, OMNI Navigation
• Documentation system: MEDITECH
• Scheduling: Call shifts, 4-5 per 4 weeks, weekend rotation, no fixed schedule but reasonable
• Floating required if ORs are shut down (internal first, then external assistance)
• Dress code: Scrubs provided by facility
• Parking garage with no fees, cafeteria available, sterile processing on same floor

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Orthopedics experience, including major joint replacements
• Urology experience (open and cystoscopy procedures)
• Must be punctual, dedicated, a team player with a positive attitude
• Adherence to AORN guidelines required

Procedures Performed

• All surgical cases except open heart, transplants, and eye surgeries
