Job Opportunity: CT Tech
Location: Buffalo, Minnesota
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evening (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM), 5 days per week (40 hours/week)
Weekend Requirement: Every weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) plus flexible additional two days
Call Requirement: None
Block Scheduling: Not allowed
Job Description
- Work setting experience required: Outpatient, Inpatient, OR, ER, Community Hospital
- Daily caseload: Approximately 50 patients
- Number of rooms: 2
- General skills required: PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
- CT procedure experience required: abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, CT angiographies (CTAs)
- Equipment experience preferred: Toshiba CT scanners
- Overnight weekend position currently open; flexibility on additional days
Required Qualifications
- CT Technologist with 1 year of experience
- CT Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ARRT
- Experience in an Outpatient setting
- Experience in an Inpatient setting
- PACS proficiency
- IV starts experience
- CT procedures experience: abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, and CTAs
- Cannon CT System experience
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check required within 1 year of start date, including:
- 7-year statewide Minnesota search
- Sex offender registry check
- Social Security trace (Canadian candidates with pending SSN accepted if other checks complete)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 1 year of start
- Minnesota DHS Net Study Fingerprint clearance required before start; candidates cannot begin with fingerprints pending unless a “more time needed” letter is provided
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start required
- Drug testing (9-panel) within 1 year of start required (not required for client clearance)
- Respiratory safety clearance (RespSafety virtual questionnaire) required prior to start
- Photo for badge (passport style, shoulders up, plain background) must be submitted within 48 hours of signing
Immunization and Health Requirements
- Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) vaccine required after age 11; declinations not accepted without approved exemption (exemptions restrict patient care areas)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months of start required; TB results must be on file no later than 3 days after start
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer required; no exemptions accepted for patient-facing roles
- Hepatitis B: Positive IGG titer, proof of series, or signed declination required
- Varicella: Positive IGG titer or 2 vaccines required; no exemptions accepted
- Seasonal flu vaccination documentation required starting September 1, 2025; declinations accepted for 2025-2026 season
Training and Competency
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required
- Skills checklist required annually
- Completion of facility-specific preorientation online modules within 72 hours of receiving login; modules take 3-9 hours depending on specialty
- Certification verification: ARRT required; CT credential on ARRT not mandatory for CT Techs
Additional Notes
- This is a latex-free facility; candidates with latex allergy should be aware latex is not used on campus
- Uniform guidelines apply; EMTs wear teal uniforms (not applicable for this role)
- Badge request forms and photo submission required for access and clearance
- References are not required for client clearance and will not delay start date
This position offers a consistent weekend schedule with flexibility on additional days, suitable for CT Technologists with at least one year of experience and required certifications. First-time travel technologists are welcome to apply.
