Registered Nurse - Surgery (Travel)

Job Summary

• Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a cardiovascular operating room setting, including open-heart cases.
• Support general operating room cases as needed.
• Practice consistent with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments following protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers to manage clinical situations.
• Demonstrate leadership competencies (Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders).

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience, including CVOR experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Operating Room (OR) experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
