Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (New Jersey)

Shift Details
- Night shift
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Total 36 hours per week
Unit Information
- Emergency Department with 45 beds
- Approximately 160 patient visits per day
- Patient population includes pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Patient-to-nurse ratio typically 1:6+, can be up to 1:8 depending on staffing, acuity, and triage
- Support staff includes ER Techs and transport sitters
- Charting system: EPIC (experience required)
- Scrub color: Black
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Jersey
- Minimum 1.5 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with ED experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Current certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
Scheduling and Time Off
- Weekend and holiday work may be required based on department needs
- No block scheduling allowed
- Time off requests must be submitted and approved before the offer; no schedule changes allowed after start date
Additional Notes
- No travel pairs allowed
- Locals are accepted
- Must complete annual education sign-offs and required CEUs (e.g., stroke and trauma CEUs if applicable)
- Must comply with floating policy for new assignments or site transfers
- Photo for badge must be a headshot with a plain light-colored background, facing forward, no filters
