Description

Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Assignment

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel

Unit & Work Environment

Unit: 4th Floor / Neuro
Beds: Currently 18, expanding to 30
Patient Ratios: 6-7 patients per nurse
Team nursing approach with techs on unit; unit secretaries available
Documentation system: Meditech
Equipment: Standard Med Surg equipment
Scheduling: Must work 4 weekend shifts every 4-week period; scheduled according to facility policy
Floating: Required to float to like units as needed
Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees
Must perform hourly safety rounds and bedside shift report with patients
Dress code: Navy-colored uniform required

Required Certifications & Licenses

Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in South Carolina
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
NIH Stroke Scale certification (can be obtained on-site)

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

The hospital is a 313-bed facility with a Level II Trauma Center and 24-hour emergency room
