Description
Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Assignment
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel
Unit & Work Environment
- Unit: 4th Floor / Neuro
- Beds: Currently 18, expanding to 30
- Patient Ratios: 6-7 patients per nurse
- Team nursing approach with techs on unit; unit secretaries available
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Equipment: Standard Med Surg equipment
- Scheduling: Must work 4 weekend shifts every 4-week period; scheduled according to facility policy
- Floating: Required to float to like units as needed
- Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees
- Must perform hourly safety rounds and bedside shift report with patients
- Dress code: Navy-colored uniform required
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in South Carolina
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale certification (can be obtained on-site)
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
