Cath Lab Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour days (06:30 - 17:00)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Cath Lab Tech to work in a high-paced, efficient environment. The role involves interventional cardiology procedures including right and left heart catheterization, cardiac stent placement, PCI, PTCA, balloon angioplasty, thrombectomy, and use of specialized equipment such as Rotablader. The candidate must be a team player and able to function effectively under pressure.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
- Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- CCI or RCIS or ARRT (R)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Cerner electronic health records
- Acute patient monitoring
- Room circulator duties
- Use of ACIST system
- Watchman procedures
- Impella insertion
- TAVI/TAVR procedures
Call Requirements
- 1 to 2 weeknight call shifts (Monday-Friday)
- One 24-hour weekend call shift per month
Orientation & Equipment
- Weekly orientation provided
- Scrubs provided
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid driver’s license if driving is required for the job
- Criminal background check within 90 days, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- Documentation of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- N95 fit test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite)
- Completion of facility-specific modules prior to start
References & Work History
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
- Verification of minimum 2 years of employment in the past 7 years, preferably the most recent 2 years
Additional Notes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment is essential
- Must be able to handle call responsibilities as outlined
- Orientation and ongoing competency exams required to maintain compliance
