CT Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Roanoke, Virginia

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule & Shift Details

• Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), Friday through Sunday
• Shift start time may vary by ±2 hours based on unit needs with 1 week advance notice
• No on-call requirement
• Must be available to work or take call for one holiday per 13-week contract (rotational)
• Facility may cancel 1 shift every 2 weeks
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Local candidates not accepted due to radius restrictions
• Floating may be required to a nearby facility approximately half a mile away

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in Virginia
• CT Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel assignment
• Active ARRT certification in CT (ARRT(CT))
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience with Siemens CT scanners
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Clinical Skills

• Preparation and administration of contrast media
• Radiation safety knowledge

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License/State ID with an address within 100 miles of the facility (required within 48 hours of signing)
• E-Verify or attestation required
• 7-year background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years (must be current within 1 year of start)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
• Education verification of highest earned degree required
• Physical exam within 1 year confirming freedom from communicable diseases
• Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) or clear chest X-ray if previously positive, updated annually
• Fit test for respirator masks within 1 year, updated annually (onsite fit testing possible if needed)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Required immunizations or positive titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Flu vaccination documentation or signed declination with masking during flu season
• Professional photo for badge (plain background, no selfies or filters)
• Completion of facility-specific compliance and confidentiality agreements within 48 hours of signing
• Completion of new hire paperwork prior to start
• Orientation manual review and acknowledgment prior to start
• Two clinical references required (hospital evaluations accepted)
• Completed employment application/resume
• Annual skills checklist update required

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Radius rule strictly enforced for candidate location
• No call required for this position
• This is a teaching hospital with over 700 licensed beds, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, and certified stroke center
