CT Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule & Shift Details
- Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), Friday through Sunday
- Shift start time may vary by ±2 hours based on unit needs with 1 week advance notice
- No on-call requirement
- Must be available to work or take call for one holiday per 13-week contract (rotational)
- Facility may cancel 1 shift every 2 weeks
- First-time travelers not accepted
- Local candidates not accepted due to radius restrictions
- Floating may be required to a nearby facility approximately half a mile away
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Virginia
- CT Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
- CT Technologist experience within the last year
- Completion of one travel assignment
- Active ARRT (CT) certification
- Active ARRT (R) certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience with Siemens CT scanners
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- Preparation and/or administration of contrast media
Clinical Skills
- Radiation safety knowledge
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License/State ID with an address within 100 miles of the facility (required within 48 hours of signing)
- E-Verify or attestation required
- 7-year background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years (must be current within 1 year of start)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
- Education verification of highest earned degree required
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming freedom from communicable diseases
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) or clear chest X-ray if previously positive, updated annually
- Fit test for respirator masks within 1 year, updated annually (onsite fit testing possible if needed)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Required immunizations or positive titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Flu vaccination documentation or signed declination with masking during flu season
- Professional photo for badge (plain background, no selfies or filters)
- Completion of facility-specific compliance and confidentiality agreements within 48 hours of signing
- Completion of new hire paperwork prior to start
- Orientation manual review and acknowledgment prior to start
- Two clinical references required (hospital evaluations accepted)
- Completed employment application/resume
- Annual skills checklist update required
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
- Radius rule strictly enforced for candidate location
- No call required for this position
- This is a teaching hospital with over 700 licensed beds, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, and certified stroke center
