Job Opportunity: CVICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Jupiter, Florida
Contract Length: 10 weeks
Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) during night shifts.
• Must have recent experience with heart patients ("fresh heart experience").

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU nursing experience, with CVICU experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications:

  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Emergency contact information prior to start.
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year residence/work/school history search
  • Sex offender registry check
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (annual)
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required before start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting).
• Physical exam within 6 months to 1 year of start date.
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step TB skin test or equivalent within 3 months acceptable).
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years.
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or documented declination during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31).
  • COVID-19 vaccination (full series required; exemptions accepted with proper documentation).
• Drug screening: 9 or 10 panel drug test within 1 year (instant acceptable).
• Annual competencies and exams as applicable:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% score).
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam.
• Completion of facility-specific HealthStream training modules during first week.
• Facility parking registration form must be completed.

• Two professional references required if travel, allied, or per diem acute care experience within 3 years.
• Annual skills checklist required.
