Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Intermediate Care
Location: Bloomington, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Schedule: Rotating nights, weekends, and holidays; included in holiday and weekend rotation
Unit Overview
- Inpatient acute care, 32 beds (all private rooms)
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3-4
- Unit cares for patients with a wide range of medical conditions including COPD, CHF, Diabetes, sepsis, renal issues, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, overdoses, pneumonia, respiratory conditions, neuro/surgical/cardiac patients
- Procedures and equipment include care for patients with Bipap, Cpap, tracheostomies, chest tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, central lines, ablation/cath lab patients, dialysis
- EMR system: EPIC
- Medication dispensing system: Pyxis
- Dress code: Scrubs, any color
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Intermediate Care (2 years of experience)
- Intermediate Care experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Comfort with chest tubes
Additional Information
- Travel RNs are the first to float and will take assignments appropriate to their level of care experience
- Typical patient assignments: ICU (2 patients), General Medical floors (5-6 patients)
