Registered Nurse (RN) - Rapid Response

Location

• Dickson, Tennessee

Employment Type

• Travel assignment
• Contract length: 8 weeks
• Start date: July 27
• 48-hour guarantee per week
• No return to office (RTO) requirement
• No overtime billed until after 48 hours worked

Unit Overview: Women’s Services

• Unit includes LDRP (9 beds), OBED (1 bed), NICU (4 beds), and 1 OR suite
• Patient ratios:

  • 1:1 for active labors, inductions, C-sections
  • 1:3 for couplet care
  • 1:1 for newborns until stable
  • NICU intermediate care ratio 1:3, with 2 NICU nurses required on unit simultaneously if NICU patients present
• No unit secretaries or techs available
• Equipment includes central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, PCA pumps
• Documentation systems: Meditech and CPN
• Scheduling: Full-time, 3 shifts per week, rotating weekends and holidays; PRNs to complete staffing
• Floating policy: Regular staff may be floated anywhere within the facility as needed; some cross-training between LDRP and NICU
• Patient experience: Daily rounding on all patients, including safety rounding

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of OB/GYN experience, including labor and delivery experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• NRP certification
• Fetal Monitoring Training
• Experience with labor and delivery including labor and recovery of mother, newborn assessment and transition
• Experience with OB inductions (Pitocin, cervidil)
• Experience with C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, vacuum or forceps-assisted deliveries
• Rapid Response experience

Work Environment and Team

• Unit staffed by highly experienced RNs, some with approximately 30 years of experience, serving as excellent resources and preceptors
• Several nurses with 7-10 years of experience also on staff
• Team-oriented unit with strong collaboration and willingness to help
• Opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care

Dress Code

• Pink and/or brown scrubs required per infant security policy

This position offers a focused opportunity to work in a specialized Women’s Services unit with a supportive and experienced team, advanced equipment, and a variety of OB nursing experiences.
