Registered Nurse – Correctional Facility (New York)
Job Details
- Location: Moravia, New York
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
- Shift: Evening, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM)
- Schedule: Every other weekend required
- Hours per Week: 40 hours
Job Description
- Provide direct nursing care to incarcerated individuals.
- Coordinate and supervise Graduate Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and direct care staff.
- Conduct health assessments and develop/implement nursing care plans.
- Diagnose and treat responses to actual or potential health problems through nursing services such as case-finding, health teaching, counseling, and supportive/restorative care.
- Consult with treatment teams before administering treatments and nursing procedures.
- Participate as a member of interdisciplinary healthcare teams and health-related committees.
- In-person interview required prior to hire.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- 1 year of nursing experience within the last year, excluding Home Health, Hospice, and School Services.
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
