Description

PCU Travel/Contract RN

Overview

  • Location: Roanoke, Virginia
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Specialty: Registered Nurse
  • Shift: Day, 4x12 hours (6:45 AM–7:15 PM)
  • Hours per week: 48
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • ACLS
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Vent experience
  • Emergency response
  • Ventilator care for chronic trach and vent patients
  • Rapid Response and Code team activation
  • Experience with Epic

Scheduling and Assignment Details

  • Weekend coverage may be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
  • One holiday must be worked during the 13-week contract
  • Requests for time off, block scheduling, and special scheduling must be included with submission
  • May be required to float within skillset
  • Locals are accepted

Clinical Setting

  • General Medicine PCU
  • Hybrid unit with PCU and ICU beds
  • Patients include chronic trach and vent-dependent cases
  • Remote telemetry is used on the unit

Additional Notes

  • 2 clinical references required
  • Drivers license or state ID required within 48 hours of signing
  • E-Verify or attestation required
  • Background check, education verification, physical exam, drug screen, TB screening, and immunization documentation are required before start
